I have found CoastalNet to be a complete waste of time. All people do is sit around chatting and laughing.
What good is that?
Plus they sometimes try to talk to me before we’ve been formally introduced.
I cannot recommend it.
I keep going every month just to make sure it really is as rubbish as I suspect.

Cristina and Barry from BoMoJo Productions have been attending CoastalNet Business Networking events a non profit organisation run by Dominic for a number of years to date.
Dominic does a sterling job in attracting businesses from around Suffolk to what can only be described as a great group of people who learn and collaborate together, generating business, leads and referrals and additionally making great friends.
The meetings are productive, informative, informal and infectious from the enthusiasm generated, often leaving you with much food for thought.
Dominic is engaging, extremely knowledgable and professional with an experienced business acumen. Don’t just take our word for it, go try CoastalNet !

The lack of formality is what makes this one of the most comfortable networking groups I attend. Lots of opportunity to catch up with folk before the only formality of giving an abbreviated description of what we do comes around. Then, a presentation followed by more catching up with the attendees..
Friendly, incredibly diverse, no membership fee and only a fiver to join in on the day. There is much to commend it.
Jo Revitt, Papworth Trust
Having attended a number of networking groups over the years I now only attend CoastalNet. Not only are the members great fun, the meetings are informative and everyone is hugely supportive of each other. I am delighted to be a member.

Dominic has done an absolutely brilliant job of developing CoastalNet from its early days, and we’ve watched it grow to standing room only at recent meetings.
He’ll hate me saying this, but it’s kind of networking meets Michael McIntyre. Dominic’s a great bloke, funny, decent and thoughtful and people really respond to that (CoastalNet is run for them, not making money out of members). He has recently introduced a showcase session, which is worth its weight in gold to members.
In many formal groups, you’re lucky to get 10 mins in the spotlight. Here we’re allowed 15-20 mins and members get the chance to see you and your business in much greater details. The meetings are fun and informative and a lot of business passes round the room in the networking sessions. Thoroughly recommend it to businesses in the Suffolk Coastal area.

Having been involved with CoastalNet since its early inception, I have seen both the group and the members grow and prosper. Dominic’s drive, commitment and his professional approach has certainly given many, the opportunity to learn from each other and network in a very relaxed environment. Well done Dom!
When Dominic invited me to the CoastalNet meeting not long after I had started out in business, I was nervous to say the least. Networking was not something that I had done before. I needn’t have worried. Dominic is a very personable chap and I soon felt at ease. The format of CoastalNet is fantastic.
A relaxed atmosphere and friendly people from which I have gained much business.Dominic himself made sure that I was introduced to people and made to feel at home. As a speaker he is very easy to listen to and gets a message across in a succinct but enjoyable manner. He is very altruistic and supportive outside of CoastalNet continuing to link people up through business and support causes important to the local community.

Dominic always facilitates a great atmosphere at CoastalNet and ensures that everyone has a good time and really gets to know other local businesses. The fact that so many members of the group have done business with each other is testament in itself to his skills – sessions are always professionally run and highly enjoyable.

I am pleased to endorse Dominic’s work organising Networking events at CoastalNet. They are always welcoming, well ordered, informative and contain a good mix of people.
This is due to Dominic’s personality, which is open, accommodating and warm. This sets the tone for the events. Even when things are not going to plan he is calm and does not get easily flustered. I can recommend Coastalnet highly

Dominic has run the CoastalNet networking group for a few years now. He has managed to keep it an informal but effective group attracting a range of small businesses from the Suffolk Coastal Area. Through Dominic’s efforts I’ve been able to meet a number of contacts that I’ve gone on to do business with!

I had never been to a networking group before I was invited to give CoastalNet a whirl. I expected a formal group with lots of throat clearing and pointless conversations about nothing. These expectations were confounded within the first five minutes. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The people are delightful. It’s well run and the talks are always interesting and relevant. I have made a number of friends and business contacts and look forward to many more fruitful and enjoyable years with the slightly crazed but always lovely Netters.

I started coming to CoastalNet meetings at the end of 2012. I have found the meetings to be great for networking (nice friendly and helpful group) and the presentations are brilliant too. I have learnt loads and made lots of business and personal friendships from this group. Would certainly recommend new and old businesses to attend. Dominic tirelessly organizes the group with extreme vigour and banter. Love it!

Since starting self-employment I have attended most of the local networking groups, and after almost two years the fact the CoastalNet is one of the two that I still attend regularly tells the story in itself. The meetings are a monthly highlight where the light-hearted and friendly approach is perfect for making connections that grow into tangible business contacts. Looking round the room, I see the faces of MANY of my customers which proves that the informal approach championed by the group leader Dominic Allen is a highly successful one. If you are a small business in the Suffolk Coastal region you owe it to yourself to attend and see it working first hand.
